New Headphones!!!

The AKG K701 headphones! Currently burning them with my music collection (300hrs+) to loosen up the diaphragm, producing more a rich tone. Looks absolutely gorgeous.

And...guess who else have these pair of earphones...

Kinda stuck

So this is how far I have gotten...annnnnnnd I'm stuck on how the background should be, or the positioning of the monster looking thing on the right side. Any ideas anyone?

Ohhhh yeah, I got offered to illustrate a book-cover for a group of fantasy authors. Have to read through the novel before starting. Hopefully my pay is worth all the effort.

Digging up old drawings

Have nothing to post...trying to sort out my photos from the Europe-China trip. So during the mean time, here's a drawing from 2 and a half years ago. My character from RF Online (mmorpg). Never got to finish it...

A matter of decision

Which one to draw (finish) next?

A Commission II

Finally! I can access Blogger once again now that I am in Germany. The Chinese government blocks everything...youtube, blogger, twitter, facebook...but still, I DONT WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!! Seems like I learned a lot more from coop than from school...so sad. Universities are totally overrated. Anyways, enjoy the completed version of my first CG commission =D

4 Jelobee

Soo yeah, this is the drawing I did this weekend (along with another one that's not really "done" yet). Anyhow, this is for Jelobee, since she asked me to draw her a smexy girl =P

To Jelobee,

I tried to post on your blog, but the stupid internet doesn't allow it...something wrong with the network in the office, since it's connected to the Australian service provider etc. So the piccie I sent to your email was another drawing, but it sucked so much and is not worth mentioning XD

Now if you want, please do add your character to this drawing (somehow >.<) and I will attempt to colour them. You can add the rest of the body to this person if you want to XD

Anyways, so this is that. I wonder how often she checks my blog =(

As for the rest of this post...I'll show off my new celly XD

The Sony Ericsson w508!!! My 3rd Sony Ericsson cellphone now, and it never gets boring. Anyways, I got the white one since the grey one looks like crap in real life (photogenic-ness also apply to cellphones I guess). And all the skins can be switched around with these more coolsome ones. It supports 3G, as well as Google Map o.0, MSN, and loads of other stuff XD XD XD

*goes and plays Guitar Hero on the phone*

What I'm doing at work

A model I did at work. Basically, I'm in this team of eight people are doing concept designs for 别墅s that are to be build in 都江堰/青城山,成都,China. In the 别墅区, about 10 different 户型will be used as models in which buyers can choose the design of their house. Overall, there are 3 sizes for the houses: small, mid, and large. Up to now we've been doing floor plan designs, fortunately they were approved by the client a few days ago. So now we're all erecting the plans into 3D mdoels (via Sketchup), and then designing the elevations that would further amplify the programs and experiences in the 别墅. Anyways, I havn't worked on this one for long, so the front lawns are still bare.
Oh yeah, the firm that I'm working at is called GHD, an Australian company that not only does architecture, but also structural engineering, sustainable technology, landscape design, urban planning, traffic monitering, mining and resources, etc. Check it out at http://www.ghd.com.au/!

Bookstore Project

Series of plain boxes made of different heavy (concrete, rusted steel, etc) materials to contrast with the glass box that spans and penetrates the boxes. Because the glass cuts diagonally through the building, different experiences of light will be present. Furthermore, each box would have a unique theme to enhance the experience inside each box.

The photo above shows the display room; where a ramp runs beside the whole length of the exposed glass wall.

An interior view from one of the entrances.

Display and collections room at night, where the light shines through the glass box that cuts through the solid cubes.

The model for the bookstore project. Was too relaxed at home to upload, so took a long time =P

Taking a break

After spending an intense week in studio (most of the time), I decided it's time to take a break (most of my things are done for studio anyways). Another attempt in CG...still spending too much time doing colours and details...Don't know how the pros can draw so fast. Anyways, it's not near half finished yet, but hoping to finish it before school ends.

Concepts and schemes

From top to bottom, it is the simplified approach I took towards the project. I want to have the building acting as a bridge, connecting the two dead space that exists in the site, at the same time, bringing life into the area. People would be able to pass through at the same time while going through the bookstore, creating a flow that exists outside of the building and in the site.
Looking at the last concept drawing, it is the closest to what I have as my final. Each cube acts like an individual space, with independent materials and exposures to light. The glass cuts through the blocks, balancing the heavy materials of the cubes (iron, steel, and concrete) with lightness. Also, from the cut, a division of different space is created on a very static positioning of the blocks, creating variations in physical space.
Anyways, more drawings will be posted of the final project, including the programs of each cube, the interior as well as sections, plans, and axos.

New Project; ideas and concepts

Location of the site in at the intersection of Clarence St. and Dalhousie St. In the site, a bookstore is suppose to be built. The wall with the door must have a clearance of 1.5m. Further explanations on the project will be posted along with some of my concept and schemes.

Final Panel for Form Z

The panel that I have to hand in. Spent roughly 10 hours on this model, hopefully the prof will like it! =D
I still hate the program nonetheless, was going to have glowy eyes and stuff, but the program does not support it... Anyways, 3D modelling is a totally different experience than drawing, and I definetly will be doing more (and better) models in the future!

Form Z =_=

A "human" figure that is for an assignment. Done with the 3D program Form Z (one of the worst programs out there imo). A very noobie model =( , better luck with ZBrush anyday.
