A (sort of) study in culture

A drawing done during boring lectures (I'm sure all of you doodle around when the prof's voice seem to slow down and deepen). Yes, I know...to all you animation students (and other people fond of anatomy) the anatomy, proportion, facial features are off (sadly I actually tried to make her look pretty). But the main concern is not on her face and body! Tried to incorporate and make up patterns from my head that seem to reflect the traditional Chinese culture. Still have to find some time to finish this drawing (but it's like one of those drawings where you don't want to work on because it's not going to turn out great when it's finished anyways).

Notice

After playing around a bit with the customizations and settings, I realized that people must log into Blogspot or Google in order to comment. As of now, that boundary is not existent anymore! Anyone is free to comment! However, please do keep in mind to give feed backs that are positive and would help me improve. Thank you! =D

Rietveld - Schroeder House

Vignettes for the Schroeder House by Gerrit Rietveld. Located in Utrecht, Netherlands, in the style of De Stijl. Sources for these sketches are photographs (not that I wouldn't go that far just to see this building). One of the sketches is really messed up and I hate it to the bones D:
I'll be posting up some interior renders of this building when I get a chance to photoshop them. The lighting for these pictures are terrible...

I hate rendering!!!

THIS is an example of "render" by graphite (2h), something done in architecture ALL the time to "show off" your building. This particular render took approxiately 4 hrs D:

Concept drawings for boathouse

These are the concept drawings for a recent assignment involving the design of a boathouse. I have a couple more concept drawings that are yet to be scanned (scanner is always occupied in school...). When I post those, a more detailed description will be given on the assignment and my design.

A new beginning

Hello everyone! For those who do not know me (I'm guessing quite a few), you can call me Lou. I am currently studying architecture (proven to be a real sleepless program) at Carleton university in the frigid Ottawa. I am 97 years old (yes, I failed each grade since kindergarten atleast 5 times) and have finally got to this point in life where I think I am ready to display some of my works. Do not expect much computer renders, autoCADs, etc., but instead, most will be my sketches done for projects as well as some (once every so often) mischellaneous drawings. Please post a comment as to help me improve (I really don't want to keep failing, as I am almost 100!) and hopefully I will find many "constructive" criticisms =D
Anyways, enjoy your stay!

- Lou (Lou)
